We were first introduced to Westwood Joinery by the Interior Designer during the fit-out stage of Michel Roux's latest restaurant, Roux at Skindles. They were responsible for producing the bespoke hardwood furniture including display cases, till points etc. The project was fast moving and like all restaurant contracts needed a high degree of coordination between the trades. Obviously, with such a demanding client, the finished product had to be of the highest quality. We were initially worried about dealing with an unknown subcontractor, however, our worries were proved unfounded. With the Directors of Westwood taking an active role in the project, we soon established a good line of communication and were able to overcome any site issues as soon as they arose. By taking an active role in the project and establishing good dialogue, the contract was completed on time and handed over to an extremely pleased client in.
Approximately six months later we found ourselves in a similar situation, after being awarded part of the auditorium fit-out at the Sondheim Theatre (formerly the Queens Theatre) . The contract had to be completed in the shut-down period for Les Misérables and required over 50No. hardwood panelled doors and frames, each one manufactured to a bespoke size. Once again, we needed a joinery contractor who would work with us, produce a quality product and deliver on time. We soon made contact with Westwood and as with the previous contract, they immediately took a pro-active hands-on approach. With the client (Cameron Macintosh) making his usual last minute changes, Westwood were kept under pressure right up to the very end, even managing to produce an additional 10No. pairs of Edwardian style glazed doors. The end result was a very satisfied client and the show opened on time.

I first worked with Jerry and Westwood 17 years ago when they were commissioned to build my Recording Studios Kore. They were a fantastic team to work with and delivered an outstanding result, both within time and on budget. Martin and the guys at Westwood were excellent. The quality of their craftsmanship and the finish was amazing. They were able to be flexible as there were specific challenges to the build but nothing was too much trouble. Communication between Martin and myself about the progress of the build and more importantly the budget was excellent and we kept costs within budget.
